  •  Oh, this hit home with me (7+ / 0-)

I was a TV child of the '50's & '60's.  What a strange and alluring time - it seems so in my memory.  When I lived it, I felt completely normal and part of a great country and a great society.  We were blinded and not told about the sick underbelly of those days.  Nonetheless, I accept both traditions as being part of my makeup, my formation.  Yes, there was racism, classism, sexism, homophobia and lots of ignorance.  There also was creativity, energy, innocence, the feeling of omnipotence over all - the earth and any potential issues/problems that may come up.  After
all, we went to the moon.  Kennedy was assassinated (the dark side).  We were in the mud and it was raining.
