  •  Oh yeah, love stripes and swirls in the water, (5+ / 0-)

even better generated by ducks. Can never get too many ducks. I just got back from my walk, watching a dozen RB mergansers. Again. So punk.

Is this the lagoon at Devereux? How's the water level there these days?

      dev. water very low..

These guys are established at the north end at the drain from the creek thru the ex-golf course and it's swampy outlet,

Several Shovelor pairs, a Ruddy pair,  a pair of Widgies, and a Mallard or too, but I think maybe the Shovelors are tougher than the Mallards..Mallards are everywhere else, including about 30 pairs along with 60 gulls, in the Isla Vista Park lake!!!...sight of many a meeting and rock band.
The replacement to the bank I burned..and by I, I mean the stunt where a bunch of bored street kids wandered around while the Cointel FBI fellers actually burned it ('it didn't take so we left and came back at 5am to finish the job.').

At the other end, herons, egrets, grebes and many shorebirds racing around, and Cormorants. Killdeer made a strafing pass overhead..

!00' behind me there the golf course road and parking lot are currently being scraped by dozers and graders while housing goes in the open area along the road and married student housing..part of the swap for the golf course..being decided what to do behind smoky closed doors..'restored' and likely as a fenced off with a path natural area to help sell nearby condos.Another TPL and local land trust retreat strategy against the developer tide. It will be ugly. I used to ride a MC around where the golf course was when it was just another upper lagoon mudflat. (i'm bad...)
      I have got to GO!

      This machine kills Fascists.
