between your experience and mine.  I was born in Tennessee but lived in the Bay Area from kindergarten through 3rd grade before moving back to Tennessee.  That probably had at least a little bit to do with my experience as well compared to those who never really went outside of the South as children.  (And, ironically, I now live in Houston.)

I lived in Houston, on and off, for about 20 years. I left before things got too crazy down there. I'm very fond of Texas, and very proud of what many of you are doing to turn it blue again.

I still miss living in Montrose. Not that I could afford to today, but boy was it an amazing place in my day. In fact, I went to High School in Montrose.

with at least two Kossacks I know: one is steveningen's husband and the other (we weren't there at the same time though as bastrop's younger than I am) is my brother, Kossack bastrop whom you might have met if you were at that meetup a while back.
