first to catch my attention when I came to DKos.

Okay, here's what I don't get.  I'm 60, and it seems to me that my generation got out in the the streets and did more "fighting the good fight" than the current youth do.  I think a big difference is most of us knew we could come right back home and get a job! Nobody leaves a job today because 10 to 100 people are waiting in line for it. You won't get a job when you get back from the good fight.

You'd think (or at least I do) that with cellphones and the internet that "collectively coming up with a way to regulate" all that you mentioned would be SO much easier for this generation.  I look back in awe that we had no cellphones or internet and, as the song goes, "by the time we got to Woodstock we were half a million strong"! Amazing networking with no real tools.

Surely we can organize under one big tent for peace and prosperity for all.  As much as I enjoyed, as always, your diary, Kid, I feel like it's just more of "us" talking than doing.  I don't know how to move forward from that anymore at my age.  I'm caretaker for two very dependent 90 year old parents now, and a husband who has to keep working way past when he thought he would.  And worst of all?  With all we skrimped and saved for retirement, we don't have a single moment of feeling secure knowing that it all could be gone in a heartbeat thanks to corrupt banksters.

Oh, and while I'm at it....where are the checks and balances for the corrupt Supreme Court?  That's where the fight for justice should begin, but we have way too many corrupt politicians who've been bought!  How do we get the foxes out of the hen houses?  And the lying media?  Where are the real journalists?  The oligarchy is closing in.

The corruptive forces of money have very carefully covered every base.  No jobs, no pensions, no bargaining, buy off politicians, pack the courts, arm the crazies and the police force to the hilt, buy the media and cover it in red, white, and blue, take our votes, build mega churches and turn lots of Christians into haters.  It's been an endless onslaught while we were sleeping somehow.

You lose your "fight" quite a bit when you reach your late 50's and onward.  The youth will have to rise up and hope to hell us older folk have enough to help fund the fight.  I won't be "on the bus" to the march, but I'll sure as hell help pay for gas or pack some sandwiches!
