If she'd remained in her job at HHS, she could have at least benefitted from the law's implementation and improved standing. But with the rollout still fresh in people's minds, I doubt she be able to run for dog catcher in Kansas.

    •  That's if the election were held today. (4+ / 0-)

I expect Sebelius' reputation to become brighter as the ACA's support among people actually using it and benefiting from it becomes more the MSM's narrative, and that bad couple of months recedes into the "oh, yeah, wasn't that embarrassing?" memory hole.

That should happen by 2016 -- a presidential election year that should bring out a lot of probably very polarized voters with fresh memories of why they rejected Sam Brownback's extreme right agenda in 2014 (...to god's ear...).

      •  Nah, I think she needs to go away (2+ / 0-)

She was a popular governor of a red state, who is now a laughing stock thanks to the rollout Dems needed the public to forget, if they're to have any chance of keeping the senate. And thanks to this announcement, all the wingnuts who had been silenced by 7.5 miliion signups, have been handed another opportunity to drag her name (and Obama's) through the dirt.

We can moan about it all we want, but the fact is, Sebelius = botched rollout is all we're gonna see for the next day or two.
