The fools hired by media corporations are routinely following their scripts--as handed out by the shills who pretend to be "editors."

My kid step-brother resigned as editor of a major daily. Many (8 or 9 or 11) people who were in my classes, and worked with me on the college paper, quit journalism--both print and broadcast--because of the on-going control of story lines and the constant focus on stupid content.

Hilariously, all of us went into public relations, publicity, and advertising/marketing. It became obvious that if you're going to promote the "party line" or the "company program," you should get paid the big bucks and enjoy the perks of a corporate world.

And, I guess, none of us were pretty enough or ruggedly manly enough to get on-air gigs.

We're all just working for Pharoah.
