Those misdeeds arguably rivaled those of Watergate, but they weren't pursued w/ nearly the same vigor.  Had they been pursued w/ similar vigor, St. Ronnie the Simple would not be a national icon and GHWB probably wouldn't have been elected, which would've meant that W faded into (well-deserved) obscurity.

There's no excuse for letting another thoroughly corrupt GOP presidency off the hook.  The last elected GOP president who was halfway honest was Eisenhower.  It's not just Nixon.  Reagan brazenly lied about his WH trading arms for hostages (and then using the arms sales profits to illegally arm the contras).  GHWB weaseled his way out of that scandal by claiming to have been out of the loop.   W, Cheney, and their minions brazenly lied this country into an abominable war.

We have never heard "look forward not backward" w/ Kiriakou, Manning, Snowden, or Drake.  Why the hell should we hear it as to a WH that consciously brought this country to new lows.  Letting them off the hook now will help them and their supporters commit future misdeeds.

In the name of Sam Dash, Peter Rodino, Sam Ervin, Otis Pike, and Frank Church, it's time for the party to bring these unspeakable actions to light.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?
