    What it feels like to be poor. How having to fight and scrimp to pay for true necessities feels. How it feels like you are climbing a slippery pole and can barely keep from slipping back.

    We need to discuss how the chronic stress of poverty effects people, including their decisions.  Recently a number of studies showed that living in poverty itself, with all else controlled for, results in defacto a 10 point drop in IQ. I believe it because I have myself, before poverty and now, as a test case.

    The poor often self-medicate. Why the need to should be discussed.
