  •  I'm predicting an actual implosion (4+ / 0-)

based on the example of the Federalists, the original Party of No in opposition to thatAtheistThomasJefferson who was going to burn down all of the churches in 1800. The Federalists became irrelevant in 1815, and there followed 18 years of one-party rule until the Whigs cobbled themselves together as the next party of big business.

I also base it on the demographics, in which they are losing millions of members a year, mostly the young, and we are gaining substantial numbers, particularly among Latinos.

If I am right, the crash in Congress and most currently Red states would occur by the 2024 elections. But it is possible that we could have something of a sweep in 2016 and get rid of gerrymanders in a new Voting Rights Act.

That would still leave corporate Democrats standing. Shifting the Overton window to the space between them and the Progressive Caucus would have interesting effects for some time.

    Back off, man. I'm a logician.—GOPBusters™
