    I would like to think any teacher who teaches "for a living" rather than "as a job" would be the one you would want, regardless of whether or not they are trans or have same  sex attraction.  Trans people go through an awful lot for the sake of personal fulfillment, so teaching may be a part of that.  But just as is true for any social segment, it's really a variety of personality types that comprise the set of trans* people.   Including a bunch of shy people whose interpersonal skills are maybe better suited to other endeavors. With regard to empathy, I dunno.  I don't know if the trans experience is a cause of empathetic response or if say trans people are inherently more empathetic than the general population.  I would like to think so, tho:)
