  •  It may seem like semantics, but in my mind there (13+ / 0-)

    is a wide difference between "tolerate" and "welcome."  

    I can tolerate a good many things, but I absolutely am under no obligation to "welcome" them.

      moves in down the block and you decide not to extend them a welcome that's a different response than if you explicitly told them they were unwelcome. I think there is a difference and I don't think failing to state someone or something is unwelcome amounts to extending them a welcome.

      My main problem with Dromm's statement is just that it, to whatever extent, did not advance the cause of LGBT rights, but instead set it back by the perception it created. This is just my humble opinion and worth no more than that.
