    had significant damage control capability. The Lexington at Coral Sea was hit by 3, 500 pound bombs, she was burning heavily and listing 20+ degrees. 45 minutes later the fires were out, they counterflooded and were landing and refueling planes.

    That said a mach 3 missile has such a small engagement window, even the USN has been worried. Overwhelming defensive systems is certainly possible, maybe by popping up 30-40 cheaper missiles with 6 mach 3 missiles in the "cloud", by the time the wheat is separated from the chaff, a carrier group would have less than 30 seconds to deal with the 6 ship killers.

    One missile.... everything would have go to just right.

      One missile has a half way decent chance if it's the one built for the job.

      And let's be honest, no one is going to fire one.

      The real question is how hard they are to hide on fishing boats. Because if you can do that then there's no contest.
