  •  And the government is working to keep it that way: (0+ / 0-)
There is no such thing as an independent, isolated, autonomous human being.
Though it's a mystery to me how they can achieve it without controlling at a micro level what you think and what you do.
    •  Think of providing care as setting up a buffet. (0+ / 0-)

People take what they need. But, while the untasted food will go state, health care is not a depletable commodity. Nor does caring for one deprive another, as long as people are willing to take turns.
One reason economic models are all wrong is because they insists on using fixed, rather than dynamic data. Why? Because dynamic is too complex for easy modeling.  Besides, they used algorithms to drive investments and look what a mess they made!

But you're correct; if one assumes infinite supply, demand is not a problem. But time is.

As to the second, I'm perfectly willing to stipulate the fallibility of static system models. But tell me why I should turn around and place in inordinate faith in dynamic models of complex systems, such as climate, or risk being called a 'denier'.

medical supervision, a transplant isn't on my menu. Neither is raw fish or chocolate cake. It's a mistake to assume that everyone wants the same things.

On the other hand, why worry what you're called?

Pumping carbon from the earth's crust into the atmosphere is a bad idea, regardless of the long term consequences. Man's ability to isolate and concentrate toxins is a dangerous habit and has the potential of causing the species to self-destruct.
