Republican nomination just to watch them witness a landslide win for Hillary.  Hillary will beat Jeb handily, and as the polls show, also, in Florida.  (Jeb certainly wasn't beloved here as the media constantly spouts)   It would be eye-opening for many to see a total wacko Cruz on the national stage and for all to witness what a mess has become of the Republican Party.

I mean, I'd love to see a landslide for whomever we nominate, but ever since Ronald Reagan became President, I'm very wary of defining any Republican as unelectable.

It's easy to rationalize in hindsight what Reagan had going for him, but the fact is, at the time, many on our side though he was unelectable.

George W. Bush should have been unelectable by any previously prevailing standards. Yes, he really did lose the 2000 election, but he got close enough to steal it.

OTBE, I agree that Cruz would be a weak candidate on the national stage. But any Republican nominee for President has a non-trivial chance of winning. And under the right circumstances the election could turn out to be a case of the Democratic nominee losing the election, so that the Republican wins by default.
