  •  we've been in a cold civil war for 20 years. (7+ / 0-)

of course, as with the class war, only one side is fighting.

will it go hot? i hope not, but after the fun down there at firebase bundy, i'm fearful.

but until someone in authority from our side puts a metaphorical rifle muzzle in the butt crack of the idiot in Nevada who had his rifle muzzle in the crack of the freeway overpass, it's going to get hot sooner rather than later. Just a nice little muzzle nuzzle and a "Hey, Bubba, got a minute?" should get his attention.

      •  My concern is that you may be mistaken here (0+ / 0-)

If I am reading your statement correctly, you are assuming that if the govt were to crack down on a few individuals with a show of force that the rest will buckle.  I would caution to rethink that.

In most times and circumstances that is what would happen, e.g. John Brown and Harper's Ferry.  Yet, other times when the conditions are right, an event such as that can spark a total war.  In fact, the John Brown incident is also attributed with initiating the hostilities of the American Civil War, or as some call it, The War of Northern Aggression.  All of the last Great Wars (not to be confused with WW 1) were started by what would have at other times been an event that would have sputtered out.

You do realize that, as I understand it at least, thousands of people from all over the country descended upon that stretch of highway and were prepared to both die and slaughter govt agents.

      •  Oh good (0+ / 0-)

A massive show of force regarding permits sounds like a country trying to avoid domestic violence.
