    Which is in no hurry to "annex" another Soviet rustbelt. Hate to put it that way, but you can read that elsewhere in so many words.

    Within 2 years of the demise of the Antifaschistischer Schutzwall, as reality set in, enthusiasm for reunification on both sides took a reality check. 20 years is not enough. 25 years on, parts of eastern Germany are still relatively poor in smaller towns.

    40+ might be more realistic for Ukraine.

    What Ukrainians have going for themselves is what they always had, lots of good farmland.  Unfortunately, that is not qualified collateral for the IMF.

    No one is coming to save us, the future is in our hands.
