and is sound. However, personally, I am just so tired of being angry at these people all the time. The holdouts who still work tirelessly against us still earn my wrath and I will continue to speak out against them. Even if the only reason he is having a change of heart is, as you say, he now has skin in the game, I still given him credit. There are still many people out there who would have chose their rigid homophobia over their own child. While is is not poster boy for equality, his speaking out could have real impact on others.

but more rolling my eyes at the continual lack of empathy these schmucks display until something bites their own butts.  Like the jerks that hate food stamps and unemployment compensation (until they need them) and Medicaid (despite the fact that their grandma is getting Medicaid to pay for her nursing home) and Meals on Wheels (until their elderly relatives need them).

They think the unemployed are lazy moochers until their own job goes away and the reality strikes hard on how really hard, if not virtually impossible, it is to get a decent job and how little their UC check actually is.

They're not blind or clueless;  they're cruel to people they don't know, don't expect to ever know, or become themselves.  Political bias and greed rule their position on everything until reality comes to pay them a personal visit.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.
