    Both students and teachers?

How do the schools surrounding Belzoni perform in comparison?

    How is the school budgeted?

Humphreys County schools are 99% black. There are some white teachers,  but not many.  There are 5 schools in the district: a lower elementary,  an upper elementary,  a middle school,  a high school and a vocational school.  Achievement is higher than in the district to the south,  but otherwise about the same as the surrounding districts.  Can't make direct comparison to the predominately white private school,  they don't use the same assessment.

Mississippi has a program for funding called the MAEP. Local ad valorem taxes are combined with state funding to bring each district to adequate levels.  OurGOP dominated state governmenthas gutted education spending since 2008.
