      ...how I have trouble getting over nearly killing myself out of being taught that God hates me and being taught to be afraid of God. God's been no different than an abusive parent who I have to fear will beat me with a belt if I behave in any way that displeases them. You don't get over that easily.

      Dude, I've literally had a Christian tell me that all concepts of God's love are totally secondary to God's judgement and resultant punishment.

      are not helping matters.  You are not exactly improving my poor opinion of Christians here today.

      Again I implore you to think about what you are doing here...is any good coming of this diary or did you really just want to stir up shit?

      you are showing an amazing lack of empathy and compassion for those who have been dreadfully harmed by Christianity as it was practiced in their families.

      You are smug in your own good fortune of having been raised in a more positive form of Christianity which you then call "True Christianity."

      Others call their version of hell-fire Christianity "True Christianity."

      Your arrogance in demanding that your own truth is the ultimate truth is simply amazing...and reminds exactly of the arrogance of the fundamentalist.
