Your trigger vs. what I see/feel when I hear KKK.

I wish reality was so kind as to shield me from reality. While some can discuss this issue in the staid abstract. Others aren't so lucky.

I'm really curious about why an image might be triggering but words would not. Does the image make it too real? Do you not see the problem with that?

      •  Not only have I been the victim of mob violence (0+ / 0-)

I've seen and smelled the results of a lynching first hand.

The smell of rotting human filled my olfactory nerves as soon as I saw the pic.

        Thank you for your concern.

        •  I've also dealt with the reality of mob violence. (4+ / 0-)

And so have my children. Mob violence and death, African style.

Many people, like I am assuming the author of the CNN piece, have no concept of what real terror is. Or what it is like to be on the receiving end of groups like the KKK.

I am genuinely sorry the picture upset you in such a visceral way. It upsets me as well. It is gutting. But it is also a reality that should be shoved under the noses of anyone who treats groups like the KKK as worthy of esoteric discussion.

And don't go there with the 'thank you for your concern'. I've made it clear numerous times that I do, in fact, care about you. Want me to post links?
