Abrahamic chimps, it is definitely not so with respect to the hippie chimps!

include apes (chimp, bonobo, gorilla, orangutan) and old world monkeys (many many kinds)...at least that's what I meant. I wasn't talking about only chimps.

That's sort of why it was mostly snark though. It is much more common in other mammals.

Funny they call pan troglodytes (regular chimp) "Abrahamic" Or is that your name for them? Pretty apt.

I was a physical anthro minor in college and had a course in primatology taught by a most excellent and enthusiastic instructor. Needless to say decades later,  it is welded into my brain. Because of her.

great apes-chimp, bonobo, gorilla, orangutans, human
        lesser apes-gibbon, siamang
old world monkeys- mandrill, macaque, baboon etc-many species.
new world monkeys-monkeys with prehensile (grasping) tail like squirrel monkey-many species
All the above are called "higher primates (simians)"

It is to distinguish these from prosimians like lemurs and tarsiers, and pottos and the aye aye. etc. who are more primitive and seem closer to the ancestors of all primates.

"hippie chimps" before. But applying the term "Abrahamic" to the blood-thirsty troglodytes is my very own mytho-poetic creation!
