  •  Who Is David Gregory Anyway? (10+ / 0-)

As far as I'm concerned, he's just an employee of NBC who can be let go or demoted at the drop of a hat. What hold does this man have over the executives above him or the show itself -- none that I'm aware of.

And as the song and dance begins, the children play at home with needles, needles and pins.

    •  He's a great dance partner? (4+ / 0-)

Karl Rove seemed to enjoy dancing with him.

    •  Why the loyalty to someone who basically (7+ / 0-)

      dismantled a flagship show singlehandedly?

The only theory I can come up with is that perhaps Gregory is basically a foot soldier following the orders of the corporate NBC masters who don't really care about revenues or viewership but are more interested in promoting and protecting the right-wing flank of politics.

In other words, what if they know that no one else can do a better job because they won't be allowed to, so the issue of firing Gregory is pretty much moot?

The genesis for this theory is the vomit inducing sucking-up and ring-kissing that occurs anytime Jack Welch's giant Wizard of OZ head makes an appearance on Morning Joe. Joe and Mika  practically prostrate themselves on the set.
