Each of those things you have outlined do concern me, the only difference between you and I, as best as I can tell, is that I don't see the present situation as a turning point.

Perhaps its just we look at the phrase "turning point" differently.

If by turning point you mean something like "a time at which a decisive change in a situation occurs" then I don't agree, things are not improving, no argument there, but none of this seems like a decisive change. An exacerbation of the current situation, certainly, one step closer to a turning point, yes indeed, but not a decisive turn in civil or political affairs.

What would I consider a turning point?

I think each of your items would likely require a different turning point.

A takeover of both houses of congress wherein laws enshrining this behavior are enacted at the federal level. Another turning point would be overturning of Roe v. Wade, because without that decision, none of these (as I see them) unconstitutional laws can be challenged would be just a couple of things I would consider a turning point.

It may come to pass that in the future, we will see real armed violence and not just posturing, if the Bundy ranch thing had turned into a bloodbath, it might indeed be considered a turning point especially if it spawned further and more violent confrontation. I just don't think we are there yet.

Religion is like a blind man, in a pitch black room, searching for a black cat that isn't there.....and finding it.
