  •  I wanted to vomit (3+ / 0-)

When I heard about this last week and I don't consider it a hoax.  Putin's stamp of approval is all over this.  Anybody who can treat the LGBT Community with such disgust will do the same with the Jewish and other communities.

Never be afraid to voice your opinion and fight for it . Corporations aren't people, they're Republicans (Rev Al Sharpton 10/7/2011) Voting is a louder voice than a bullhorn but sometimes you need that bullhorn to retain your vote.

    •  Why do you think Putin would do this? Actually (4+ / 0-)

it could be this was a provocation designed to generate a knee jerk emotional response from the west and paint the pro-Russia militia as neo-nazis and generally, as fascists (even though it was the ultra nationalist Right Sector that was instrumental in the overthrow of the Yanukovich government).  That seemed clear to most of the population targeted.

"Fragmented and confused, we have no plan to combat any of this, but are looking to be saved by the very architects of our ruination."

Flier calling on Donetsk Jews to register now widely seen as fake
      ...
Meanwhile, the Anti-Defamation League said it was "skeptical about the … authenticity" of the fliers, which have been widely reported and accepted as authentic, including by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who denounced them as "grotesque."

Also, Julia Ioffe, who covers Russia for The New Republic, wrote: "The Donetsk Jewish community dismissed [the fliers] as 'a provocation,' which it clearly is. 'It's an obvious provocation designed to get this exact response, going all the way up to Kerry,' says Fyodr Lukyanov, editor of Russia in Global Affairs. 'I have no doubt that there is a sizeable community of anti-Semites on both sides of the barricades, but for one of them to do something this stupid — this is done to compromise the pro-Russian groups in the east.'"
