    IIRC. Like DECADES, rather than a few years.

    If you do something like that for say, 5 yrs, you can see how it works and decide if it's worth it.

    You NEVER sell the asset though. You keep that. You contract for maintenance/servicing, NOT sell the asset. That's STUPID.

    If the 5 yr contract works out, you can renew for another 5 yrs. If it doesn't, you either take the servicing back (and decide to keep the companies employees or not) or you find somebody else to handle it.

    You'll probably know what you're going to do after a few years. If the company is going to cut corners, they'll do it pretty quick. They'll have to, or they won't make any money.

    5 yrs is long enough to find out if it will work, and short enough that you can recover if it doesn't.
