  •  LGBT Rights in NYS and Cuomo (4+ / 0-)

NY passed SONDA in 2002 - which dropped coverage for transgender people. It passed marriage equality in 2012.

Every year people try to correct leaving trans people out of the 2002 civil rights bill - VT, RI, CT, MA - all have this coverage. Wile NY sits there - waiting for Cuomo to extend himself to help pass it.

But, he's afraid to be associated with trans people. So, their discrimination and civil rights are ....inconvenient.

A liberal Lion, he's not. Pennsyltuckey has passed 34? of these local bills - about 6 times more than New York State. If they (as seems likely) pass their statewide bill before NY - NY is looking like it has more to do with Alabama than the northeast on this civil rights issue - at least in the Governor's Office.
