    American individuals get attacked in countries all over the world.  We don't invade when someone gets mugged or arrested.

        he is referring to the actions of the Ukrainian government to enforce the law of the country against individual activists.  It would be essentially akin to the UK attacking us if a British citizen where arrested at a protest here.

        And keep in mind that most of the people involved are not Russian citizens at all, making this justification even weaker still.

        At the end of the day, none of it is a justification for war mongering and imperialism.
