  •  Rachel Maddow explained last night (17+ / 0-)

that this is all about the Confederate and Nazi-inspired Posse Comitatus doctrine and the loose organization of the same name, same as Timothy McVeigh and the White Supremacist wing of the militia movement. That's who turned out with the guns to face off with the Feds.

The Posse Comitatus community is named after the law that removed Federal troops from the South in the administration of Rutherfraud [sic] B. Hayes, who sold out Southern Blacks in exchange for Redeemer Democrat (the political version of the Unreconstructed Rebel Klansmen) votes to make him President. Since the law forbade using Federal troops to enforce Federal law in the states, dogma now holds that there is no Federal authority to enforce Federal law at all. In the extreme case, as with Bundy, some assert that there is no Federal government or Federal law at all. Bundy also asserts the group's dogma constantly, that there are no authorities above county sheriffs. This is an obvious misreading of the name of the law, since Posse Comitatus in Latin can be read as the Power of the County.

Nobody should have been surprised that Bundy turned out to be a frank racist. Fox NewsWhat'sThat? assumed that Bundy knew to only use the Dog Whistles for racism, as the Right has known to do since the Civil Rights Act went through in 1964.

During the Whiskey rebellion, President George Washington rode out at the head of the Pennsylvania militia, and the rebels melted away into the woods. This action to enforce Hamilton's Whiskey Tax is still held up as the first and original instance of Federal Government tyranny among the moonshiners and their supporters and emulators, long before slavery became the chief issue.

    Back off, man. I'm a logician.—GOPBusters™
