  •  We're enjoying our first rain in Nosara right (11+ / 0-)

now, OPOL, and it was such fun to pick up my computer and find your diary. I love the rain and reading this lovely diary seems the perfect accompaniment. it's been such a long, long dry season here this year. Now it's cool, there's a light breeze and the rain was hard enough that we had to move terrace furniture out of the way to keep it from getting soaked. It's settled into a light steady shower now. Perfect.

Your pictures are so wonderful and we love that you got the long-tailed tyrant. We've never seen one -- they only hang out over on the Caribbean. We also love that you have neighbors you like and can spend time with.

The oropendola's "gurgle" is precedent to a strange kind of gymnastics. If you haven't already seen it, watch for a chance to see the bird make that noise and then seem to fall forward off from his perch like a kid on monkey bars swinging toward the ground with one leg hooked on the bar. It's like a deep, deep bow they make and then they right themselves. And a few minutes later, they do it again.

Beautiful diary. My favorite so far.  Keep 'em coming.
