when I see things I love getting torn down, or torn apart, I get angry. When I see helpless people getting abused, I get angry. When I see people amassing way too much power and wealth and using them to destroy people's lives, I get angry.

Anger isn't the only reaction I have, but it's pretty normal to be angry in the face of the amount of pernicious wrong that's being done.

Sure once I was young and impulsive, I wore every conceivable pin. Even went to socialist meetings, learned all the old union hymns. Ah, but I've grown older and wiser. And that's why I'm turning you in.

I am struggling a bit with explaining what I mean.  I think I get closer to it here

There are things in the world that provoke genuine anger and grief and sadness, such as what you describe. I am much the same way, although I am seeking more to use that to fuel action that heals rather than lashing out as get older.

What I think I am talking about is more when people look at events, words, or actions that have ambiguous interpretations, then choose to take the worst interpretation, then assume their interpretation is true, and then get angry at whomever based on the interpretation they chose.   What is actually going on turns out not to be super relevant to their anger in such cases.
