    and severe cuts to the University of Alaska system.  It has taken the last 20 years to rebuild UA's reputation and now, death by a thousand cuts begins. Instead of our slogan "Naturally Inspiring", we can proudly say "Striving for Mediocrity"(once again).

      that any Alaskan would be smarter or better educated than Sarah Palin. Doesn't Alaska also have the highest dropout rate in the country? Well done, Alaska!

      My sister's best friend since kindergarten retired not too long ago as a math prof at the University in Fairbanks. She and her hubby recently moved to the Anchorage are to be closer to the Palins .... no, not really. In 2008, my sister sent me a photo of Dosh with a group of women "greeting" Sarah on her return from the Republican National Convention. She is holding a sign that says "Hockey moms for Obama."
