    in the rhetoric world though.

Registered as a Republican, donated to Democrats only. Hm.

but he's registered as a Repub  since then.

What do the Defend-NSAers-at-any-cost hope for society to gain from Snowden turning himself in and standing trial? I suspect it'll be a cold day in hell before any of them finally give a reasonable, coherent answer to that question.

    •  no, it's a pretty easy row to hoe (2+ / 0-)

The row isn't "Ha, ha, another racist turns out to be a Republican!"

The row is: a number of right-wing sites and commenters were falsely claiming that Donald Sterling is a major figure in Democratic Party circles. They claimed he's a fundraiser, a bundler, and a major donor. Turns out he's never been a party fundraiser, he's never been a party hotshot, he's made only a handful or donations over the past 25 years, there's no evidence he's ever actively supported any Democratic Party candidate for president, and he's not even a member of the Democratic party.

      •  Okay, fair. (2+ / 0-)

It's a much less heavy lift to say "No, he's fucking not a Democrat" than it is to say "He's a  Republican."
