with this condemnation of Democrats for not finding a candidate in EVERY district, including ones that are hopeless. Campaigning for a seat costs time and money, creates stress on a person's family, friends and job. It's a huge haul and to ask people to do that for the certainty they will be defeated is a big ask. I completely understand why people won't do it. My congresswoman in my deep blue district has had a couple of cycles with no Republican challenging her for the same reason, only worse — Republicans average about 15% of the vote for Congress here. The two east wards in my city went for Obama by a 10-1 margin.

Ed FitzGerald for governor Of Ohio. Women's lives depend on it.

districts on June 7, 2012.  By law, candidates had to file by June 10.  Since the fate of Manhattan, the most liberal city involved in this reapportionment was not decided until three days before the filing deadline, no viable Democratic candidate thought they could compete with such a short timeline (and without the financial backing of the Koch brothers and others in the oil industry who support Huelskamp).

Please send Kansas some of the citizens from your district so that the number of Kansas Democrats can rise and we can defeat Tim Huelskamp and our Christofascist governor, Sam Brownback.
