    A player and sponsor revolt was well underway. If Silver had waited even another week to act, it would have spread throughout the league and cost the other owners a LOT of dough. They described it as a cancer, but really, this was a big open gushing wound they had to cauterize stat. The vote to force the sale of the Clippers will likely happen in a matter of days.

      The NBA was in deep shit, I commend them for at least waiting a few days to give the appearance of due process. But there was no way Sterling was going to be able keep his team.

      The question for me was the mechanism for forcing him out. The details of the NBA's constitution are not public. I wasn't sure if they force a sale or if they would simply have to cripple his ability to operate the team until he gave in. Turns out it's just a matter of getting a 2/3 vote from the owners.

      I can guarantee you that even if those owners shared Sterling's views, they would dump him in order to save their own profits.

      You can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America.
