    multiply that by the number of voters and you get longer lines.

    There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

      I’m not disputing the fact that the new requirement in Wisconsin was a voter suppression effort.  I am, however, telling you that with the system in use here in Cleveland Heights, signing the book takes no time that isn’t already needed by the poll workers themselves.  Their end of the job could probably be speeded up, but until it is, signing the book does not make for longer lines here.

      During busy times of the day, the wait will depend on the number of booths. Other factors are which pollworker is on the roster and which on the street address roster. The first is alphabetical and throughput is greatly increased by a pollworker's ability to read upside down :) The street address can be a time killer if the pollworker keeps forgetting that this roster is organized by street name and then street number.

      The length of the ballot may also cause holdups as well as voters in the wrong precinct.
