    are two choices - slow DSL or reasonable cable.

    Few have fiber.

    Cell coverage is a bad joke in most of the country if you need steady connectivity.  Such a bad joke that it's hard to take seriously someone arguing that it's a true competitor in the market.

    You're basically arguing that Ma Bell didn't have a monopoly as long as Western Union was still delivering telegrams.
