  •  Capitalism. Dog eat dog economy, valuing property (5+ / 0-)

over people, I believe that people are deep down afraid in our "your on your own" society and that makes them tribal and angry at others who might be getting something they are not they want to punish others because they are miserable too but they show up to work and pretend a lot to get through the day.

so yeah, a botched execution of some scumbag is a small pleasure

In Northern Europe people don;t need to kill one another because they have the basics of life and don't fear financial penury and don't develop resentments.

    •  Your last sentence is very true, IMO (0+ / 0-)

"Privatize to Profitize" explains every single Republican economic, social and governing philosophy. Take every taxpayer dollar from defense, education, health care, public lands, retirement - privatize it, and profit from it.

    •  Alas there is a lot of public support (0+ / 0-)

for the death penalty here in England - eg for killers of policemen, or the nastier paedophile.... but no institutional support for bringing it back ie no political movement.

No chance at all it will return whilst we are in the EU. None.  Thanks be!

I have to think your "recommend" of this comment was an error?

Commenter is not regular or prolific, so may fall in that category.

For the  sake of education, I'll go ahead and point out that clicking the rec button again can remove a rec as quickly as it it was given in the first place.

Just for posterity. The commenter is on prolonged time-out right now, but your  apparent rec reflects on your record.
