    Obviously, I'm in the minority about how kids react to money and glitz.  TV has made logic out of style--McDonalds over healthy is one example of advertising selling style over substance.

      all the children see is the flash and glitz and not the bigger and more frightening picture that goes with it.

        My argument is that kids that live in the ghetto (a phrase that needs to return ) see less success from other people--and if you want instant gratification, as do most children, you look up to neighbors who have "made it."
