  •  The separatists have already declared referenda (0+ / 0-)

    for secession on May 12th. They won't be recognized by anyone but Russia (and some of the Putin apologists here), but when the self-proclaimed referendums are done and 142% of the population votes to join Russia, despite 2/3rd of the people in the East and the South actually wanting to stay in Ukraine, the crisis will still remain.

    I think as soon as the fake referenda are done, Putin will invade to try to legitimize them and to disrupt the May 25th elections. He's got to keep the bogus charge alive that the government in Kiev is "illegitimate," despite the well documented facts below that it did everything it realistically to achieve legitimacy. But, since Yanukovich fled, refused to come back, but also refused to resign, the country could not just stop functioning.

    Just doing my part to piss off right wing nuts, one smart ass comment at a time.
