public feel both major political parties do not represent their interests.  Railing on the republicans is not going to help that because most people already know that party sucks.  But most think the democratic party sucks too, so the obvious best approach to is show people that it doesn't suck.  If that's possible.

good at and that the Dems suck at is getting a clear message out to the public.  Anyone who has ever taught school knows that, assuming something is self-evident or expecting that you can say something once and people will "get it" is a recipe for disaster.    Whatever point you are trying to make, you make it over and over until everyone in the room, including the kid in the back who sleeps through the class -- knows it.  That's why the Republicans get together and create talking points and beat them into the ground.  Yes, you and I think that Benghazi is a joke. But my sister-in-law who watches Fox News, thinks it is very very serious.  "People died!!!" she tells me, as though they have never died before or since.   We need to reach those people and there are legions of them, who only respond to talking points.

      •  I don't think they are good at their message out (0+ / 0-)

As far as policy. Just that the other guy is not one of us and anything he does is bad.

and the GOP and it's supporters are still not giving up on the attack. Also look at gun control,I work at a retail store and a customer came in blaming Obama & the last primary lead smelter in this country closing because of EPA regulations(or rather supposedly so...) for the price of ammo going. I then asked him where were the complaints when all the other lead smelters shut down over the last 30-40 years? Why didn't prices go up as each one shut down during that time? Did he know that ammo uses lead from secondary lead smelters which smelt recycled lead?
