    is serious; people are not ripping them off, they are desperate as incomes have been squeezed and people cannot afford to eat as rents are high, food is expensive, transport is expensive, heating and energy are expensive.

    The fact that the Mail on Sunday chose to do this infuriated so many people and, as such, the story backfired. But the real issue is less that of the food-banks than the fact that so many are so desperate. Almost 1 million people have accessed food-banks in Britain over the past year.  Some Tories are actually saying garbage that the food-banks are self-promoters; they have saved people. But things should never have gone this way. It was simply grotesque and unethical that the majority paid for the actions of MNCs and finance capital.
