"only in America" could you have all of these disparate types rubbing elbows in the same room. Astounding, really.

I'll be back when somebody starts tossin' the laugh bombs.

'Only in America'? Americans are so insular. In most developed countries around the world you have disparate types rubbing elbows with each other all the time. And people can get gay married and everyone has medical care and wimmen can get their special needs looked after and tens of thousands aren't being killed by guns every year...I could go on. Only in America can definitely apply to a lot of things but diversity isn't one of them.

get some good sleep. Your disposition might be jollier in the a.m.

Or, to use an earlier spelling, a good "physick" is what you might need. Or is that too "insular" for you?

of our country, but you failed to address the substance of vernonbc's comment.  Could it be that he's right?

          •  I'm talking about what occurs IN THAT ROOM, (0+ / 0-)

only. NOT necessarily what occurs or can occur in the country. You two have taken off on a subject of your own, not mine. He might be right about what he was bringing up, but it wasn't what I was talking about. And his unnecessary slam on my remark is what brought up my snark and dismissive reply. This happens a lot on this blog. Someone makes a remark, and an unnecessarily nasty slam answers them. It shows more the hostilities on this blog rather than a desire for dialog.

I'll always slam back if I see something like that. And by the way, Europeans lately ain't exactly models of "comity," are they? They can easily and fully be just as full of shit as any American. Including "cultured, intellectual" Europeans.
