This tidbit is exciting good news about coverage for one of the most marginalized and disadvantaged populations in the country, and it was the first I'd heard of it as well.

Unfortunately the people the provisions apply to generally have the same lack of information, which is one of the chief defects of a plan which is not universal single payer.

One of the main benefits of the ACA has been getting people who were already eligible for coverage but did not realize it to investigate whether they might be eligible.  Unfortunately, utilization among the eligible is still far short of 100%.

as the states that took Medicaid expansion did by combing through the rolls for their other safety net programs. Red states can be expected to obstruct and deny, of course.

    •  Still can't let it go? (0+ / 0-)

We have what we have, for now, and it is much better than we even understood that we had, as this Dairy demonstrates.

Would it not be more beneficial to people for us to continue to search and publicize the known and unknown benefits of the program, as it exists, rather than incessantly distracting and trying to undermine the ACA for something it has not yet become.

Do we disparage our children because they were not born as complete (Single Payer) walking ,talking ect. as we wanted. They mature into these things, if they are properly moved forward.
