    "just" meant that any serious disruption in the supply chain would cause hospitals to run out of supplies, stores to run out of food, etc.

    Giving human beings no notice of when they'll be working or how many hours they'll get makes it impossible for them to hold the multiple jobs necessitated by the low hours at one, let alone to do go to the doctor or schedule a child's birthday party.  It's business-school-inspired sadism.
