  •  Myself, I just can't decide whether Kerry (0+ / 0-)

is blinded by his own ego, or just plain intellectually ungifted.

Probably more than a little of both.

Dogs from the street can have all the desirable qualities that one could want from pet dogs. Most adopted stray dogs are usually humble and exceptionally faithful to their owners as if they are grateful for this kindness. -- H.M. Bhumibol Adulyadej

    •  No, he had his orders. (0+ / 0-)

He was very likely told not to disturb the "unbreakable bond" and the "special relationship" that the US has with Israel.  By not pushing Israel, he was just following orders.

We veto everything in the UN that involves Israel and were the only member of the UNSC to vote against the Palestinians in the UN.  Do you honestly believe that we - the US of "Fuckin'-aaayy!" - could broker an honest agreement?

      Please, sir!  :0)

Put a genuinely-neutral party at the helm of this, and a solution will get done.  With the US in charge - shit got done because the side with all the power, the money, and the enormous military didn't feel the need to negotiate - fairly or otherwise - with the people from whom they're stealing land.  Israel LOVES the status quo.  Why would they EVER want to change it?

Here - read THIS PIECE that tells how Netanyahu shot down a peace proposal brokered in 2011 by Israel's President, Shimon Peres.  It was done in secret, and there are reports that Abbas is denying it (of course he would), but it is Peres himself who is making the allegation, not somebody making a guess about it.

Struggle with dignity against injustice. IS there anything more honorable that a person can do?
