  •  I brought that up because I just came across (6+ / 0-)

    an instance of a Brit referring to a "Sundae" as a "Kinckerbocker Glory"  in an historical context. Even my great grandmother wouldn't call it a "Sundae" and she emigrated here in 1908.

      of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and was flummoxed when the Dursleys bought Dudley a Knickerbocker glory.  I had to consult teh google to figure out what the hell J. K Rowling was talking about.

        at his shop, but if he does, he really ought to call a "sundae" a "Knickerbocker Glory".

        I just did a little search in that bunch of tubes where cats run through with messages, and found an instance of Gordon Ramsay using the term as late as last year.
