notes and taken action when warned of the possibility of an attack, but then again...he could have just sat on his a$$ and read about pet goats...

to be told exactly what to do, when to do it and how often to do it. No more science or reading comprehension, no siree, just show me where it is quoted in the bible and I am all over it.

I don't think the response to Katrina would have been 'heck ofa job, Brownie' either, but the SCOTUS didn't want us to find out...

worked at getting his national security team together, and on that subject, before he would go on the earliest and longest vacation EVER by a President, to go "clear brush" on a non-producing "ranch".

Let's weigh the priorities, "clear brush", or national defense? We know how that weighed out for Dubya.

      •  Gore and his staff would certainly have... (2+ / 0-)

listened to Richard Clarke, and responded to the "Bin Laden..." memo, unlike the certain brush cutter ("Shrub" cutter?) you aptly describe, and his shady crew.

Clarke saw the danger bin Laden and Al Qaeda posed, and repeatedly implored Rice, Wolfowitz, et.al., to have a high-level review of the risks.  He got bupkis... and the country got the horror of the original 9/11.

And, if the fateful "Bin Laden Prepared to Strike in US" memo had been put in front of him, Gore would have likely begun an immediate response, rather than continuing his vacation.

Where's the Republican obsessive firestorm of outrage over that little "failure to respond" to clear intelligence?
