    when Enbrel first came out 15 years ago. I recall the plant to produce it costing something like $600 million, and surely once similar drugs came on the market the price would come down. I mean, that's how it works, right?

    Riiighht. Plenty of new drugs have come on the market, but always at the same price, no matter if it's weekly, monthly or quarterly injection. Isn't that a coincidence. Even my doctor said it's price fixing. "They do it because they can," he said. It's like an extortion racket: pay up, or have your knees busted.
