have gotten chastised by the left for Blazing Saddles. Look what happened to Colbert over his tweet. Lots of folks on this site went after him for something that was clearly parody. Though, and this is the important part, the outrage was started by a right-wing hack. That's one thing the left is definitely guilty of -- wanting to appear "holier than thou" against outrage, even phony outrage, from the right.

And in closing, what would a comment about Blazing Saddles be without the funniest clip in cinematic history?*

    *OK, I'll admit, that's a subjective call...

GOP 2014 strategy -- Hire clowns, elephants, and a ringmaster and say "a media circus" has emerged and blame Democrats for lack of progress. Have pundits agree that "both sides are to blame" and hope the public will stay home on election day.

I mean to say outrage about racism. Many (almost all, really) outrages on the right are them bitching about not being allowed to do whatever they want. But occasionally they stumble into something that on the surface appears legitimate. But that's where the similarity, and sincerity, ends for them.

    •  I'm going to go out on a limb here... (0+ / 0-)

....and say that this scene is the threat to the environment.

Message to Dems: We HAVE to start showing up for Midterms.
