    But I'd already posted before remembering the name. More Filipino food.

    I expected them to be salty and strong flavored. Bland is almost disappointing...

    But there's just something about it I can't get past, mentally. I assume they must be good since they are a relatively high priced delicacy.

    I recall a bedbug pate from southern Mexico I also mentally couldn't get past. Something about the human blood they suck. I guess I have more food prejudices than I thought, on consideration. I don't mind a crispy fried grasshopper or an earthworm burger, and I've even been known to eat human organs, but bedbugs?

      I've eaten roasted Thai water bugs several times and love them.  My own bugaboo is coot (mud hen).  Something about those lime green feet that I can't get past.
